Jim Zuffoletti, CEO

Mr. Zuffoletti has been a founder of start-up organizations as both an entrepreneur and an intrapreneur for the past twenty years. As President of Social SafeGuard he has been a catalyst for determining the company’s strategic direction and for forging critical relationships with customers in the heavily regulated industry segments who are looking to build and secure their social networks. He is also responsible for customer relationships and results. Prior to founding Social SafeGuard, Mr. Zuffoletti was a founder of OpenQ, Inc. and  FreeMarkets, Inc., a pioneering e-business company. While at FreeMarkets, Jim served in a number of senior leadership capacities including sales leadership and general management. Before FreeMarkets, Mr. Zuffoletti started his career at GE in a variety of positions in finance and business development. Mr. Zuffoletti holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Amherst College and holds an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.
 

Otavio Freire, CTO and President

Mr. Freire is a Brazilian-born American entrepreneur and inventor. As the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Social SafeGuard, Mr. Freire is responsible for the creation of Social SafeGuard’s enterprise technology solutions, that enable customers in global, regulated industries to significantly impact their sales, marketing risk management and compliance efforts. Mr. Freire brings rich experience in social media applications, internet commerce and information technology serving industries including pharmaceutical, financial services and retail. His expertise spans software development, customer relationship management systems, content management technologies, and social media. Social SafeGuard’s platform has received significant amount of attention following its original release including the Wall Street Journal, Information Week and CBS. Mr. Freire is a guest lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Engineering at the School of Engineering at the University of Virginia and also at the MBA and EMBA program at the Darden Business School. He holds an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden Business School and a MSc in Information Systems from Bowie State University where he graduated top of his class and an Undergraduate in Civil Engineering from Universidade Federal da Bahia – Brazil.
 

Matt Prentis, Vice President of Product Management

Mr. Prentis is responsible for managing the design, development, and implementation of the combined Social SafeGuard and Customer vision throughout the entire suite of Social SafeGuard products and solutions. With over 15 years of experience in various product management and product development roles, Mr. Prentis brings a wealth of experience in delivering high quality products that focus upon optimal user experience. Prior to joining Social SafeGuard, Mr. Prentis began his career with Accenture before becoming a co-founder of Circadium Technology. Following this, Mr. Prentis spent the remainder of his career within the healthcare and Enterprise Content Management (ECM) industries, working with organizations such as Cerner, Sourcecorp (managing product development), and finally Perceptive Software where he was responsible for a team of product managers specifically focused upon delivering SaaS and healthcare-based solutions for their customers. Mr. Prentis holds a Bachelors of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Kansas.

 

Jim Ting, Vice President of Engineering and Cloud Services

Mr. Ting is responsible for the overall engineering, technology development and IT operations. Mr. Ting brings over to Social SafeGuard over 20 years of experience in internet technology, cloud computing, enterprise level architecture and traditional IT services serving various industries. Prior to joining Social SafeGuard, Mr. Ting has co-founded Zonebee, a knowledge management software company (part of University of Arizona’s technology commercialization initiatives) focused on informal self-directed and social learning. Mr. Ting began his career with Accenture and has served in key executive and senior management positions at Interworld, Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx), Smart System Technologies and SterlingBackcheck. Mr. Ting holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Raj Samani, Chief Scientist, McAfee -Raj Samani is spearheading the Social SafeGuard Board of Advisors. As a renowned technology leader, he currently servesas Chief Scientist for McAfee, and formerly the Chief Technology Officer with McAfee. He drives the innovation strategy for McAfee globally and is a well-known expert in the global cybersecurity community. Mikko Hypponen, Chief Research Officer, F-Secure – Mikko Hypponen is one of world’s foremost authorities on cybersecurity and privacy issues and a visionary for pushing the boundaries of cybersecurity. He’s served as the Chief Research Officer for F-Secure for over 25 years, and has a wealth of experience in public speaking, strategic briefings and keynotes, including TEDTalks. Evelyn de Souza, Privacy and Compliance Executive – Evelyn de Souza is a well-known and well-established privacy and security professional, and is currently a Data Privacy and GDPR consultant to leading global technology firms. She has held positions with Cisco Systems, where she was the Cloud Security and Data Privacy leader, McAfee, BigFix, and Trend Micro. Evelyn was the Co-Chair of the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and founded OpenSource Privacy. David Evans, PhD Founder of the University of Virginia's Security Research Group- David Evans is the founder and leader of the University of Virginia's Security Research Group. Current research projects focus on security multi-party computation, web security, and adversarial machine learning. David Evans holds SB, SM, and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has led and co-led research projects funded by the National Science Foundation, DARPA, NASA, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, and Google.
